Using smart IoT sensors in schools to monitor IAQ/IEQ

Crayons stacked on a desk

We must have missed this scandal, but certain US schools have been using sensors to check school areas for vaping (!).

Now, many of those schools have come to their senses (pun intended) and will be using the same “smart” sensors to identify and address wider IAQ issues. Many studies show how this can lead to improved academic performance and better health for students and staff.

In fact, different IoT sensors will be used to supplement the schools’ Building Management Systems to optimise Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), just as AirGuard’s OPUS III Control Centre does. Features can include motion sensors, optimisation of temperature, humidity, lighting, shading, and interrelated systems.
